JAE Tunnel Run 2012 - Friday 7th September

For the 2nd time the teams at MissBanzai and JAE are collaborating to bring you the JAE Tunnel Run 2012

This year we will be starting from Wicksteed Park on the evening of Friday 7th September.

The MissBanzai team will be waiting to collect your entrance fee at the field closest to the entrance at 10pm.

Entrance fee is £10 per car - £8 of this fee will be given to Macmillan cancer care, this is all helping to go towards money being raised all weekend at JAE.
£2 is to cover admin and printing costs.

At approx 11pm when all the maps are handed out, we will be off to see the sights and tunnels of London.
These will include The London Eye, Tower of London, Tower bridge and Big Ben… we will be doing some epic tunnels which include The Kingsway tunnel and the favourite West Ferry underpass to name but a few.

So if you have heard of our infamous tunnel runs, but have never done one or you are a hard core tunnel runner and know what these are all about, get yourself, and your friends involved to help us raise as much money as possible for this very worthy charity.

There will be a prize for Spirit of the Tunnel Run on the night, which will go to the car/team who have embraced tunnel running to the max!

Details below:

Starting point: Entrance field at Wicksteed Park
Gates open: 9pm
Price: £10 per car – Route map will be handed out on entry
Gates close for entry: 10:30pm
Cars leave for London: Approx 11pm

The tunnel run will end at South Mimms services, where we can have some breakfast and then convoy back to JAE.

JAE Show : : Japanese Auto Extravaganza - the UK's largest gathering of Japanese cars, clubs and scene.

But before you read on and go... Well I aint part of a Jap Car Club....? You don't have to be, this is why we are giving those car clubs a chance to come along as well. You will however need to get those Jap Car Owners from your club to get there ass into gear and make sure they attend. Now if you really do fancy it and you can't get them to come, don't worry you can still come along and camp you park your non-jap car in the secure parking and pitch up! Just ask me for more information

JAE is a full weekend of camping, entertainment and activities which embraces all Japanese cars from the UK and Europe for a weekend of likeminded family fun. Don’t forget to get stuck in – Five-a-side football tournament, Tug Of War Battles, Endurance competition, Japanese Food and Drink eating competition, Car Pull, Bungee Challenge, Inflatable Jousting, Time Attack Go Karting, Trade Areas... etc etc and other NEW events yet to be announced!

Now in its 17th year, JAE continues to be the favourite event for the Japanese car scene. Ooooo and and on Saturday Night there will be a huge firework display, and also Kleers will be sponsoring the Show & Shine Competition!

Where is JAE: Wicksteed Park, Kettering, Northants

When: 7th, 8th, 9th September 2012

Time: You can arrive from 7am on the Friday – Gates are open 24/7 – You can come and go as you please!

How much are the tickets: £25pp in advance this includes camping and a Free Show guide or it's £30pp on the gate this also includes the camping and access to all JAE Events taking place! Each child under -12 get in for FREE for the entire three day event (provided each child is accompanied by an adult).

Competitions - Remember to check out the list of events and activities and make sure you enter your team into the IKO and other competitions. Make sure you check back for regular updates and keep in touch through the forum for the latest news and information

All car clubs can enter any of the competitions and almost all the other activities beyond the funfair and circus big top are free! The awards and presentations will take place for all competitions on Saturday night immediately after the massive JAE Firework display

Families - For 2012 like we did in 2011 we will have an area dedicated for families only and is a quiet area with a 9pm strictly enforced curfew. We hope that people will respect this and allows those with small children a quiet place to camp away from all the noise. During the day there is to be no loud music played in this area also as some families will be with very small children

It's the end of show season for MP this year, and sadly things have quietened down somewhat on the forum- I think it's time we start to liven it up a bit!

I've not been about at all due to work commitments, but going to try and find at least half hour every day to pop on and sort stuff out.

So, how's this year been for peeps? New car? new mods? new projects?

We want to know!

I've managed to get Wodger signed up as a member and he brought along his BMW M3 E46 to Trax- This year's been pretty quiet on the show front, so let's get things rolling for next year!

I'm David, Chunkiegg's brother. My baby is a BMW M3 E46 Coupe, mystic blue with black nappa leather interior, 19" alloys, 343 bhp (think that qualifies for the performance part of club?), one of the previous owners installed monitors in the headrests and a PS2. Really good car to drive, always keep it under 70

Thinking about reselling in the future (and when I have saved enough money to pay for the mods) I would like to:

Get it remapped - extra 15-20 bhp
Alloys refurbished - just polished (bit pitted at the moment)
TV upgrade - currently analogue, will need to go digital next year so I don't miss Bargain Hunt in my lunch break
New monitors - only one is working, can't get headphones to pick up the sound, apparently Alpine don't make this model anymore and the part needed is very hard to find
PS3 or XBox 360 - not sure which yet
Blue stitching on the seats and coloured M3 logo in the headrests (logo is currently just embossed, no colour)
Paint sections of the doorcards and the dash blue - tie in with the exterior blue

If I won the lottery and didn't have to think about reselling, as above plus:

Fully upgraded sound system - sound quality rather than loudness, saw and heard a really good system in a BMW at Trax this year, the additional speakers and layout of the boot looked OEM, how I would like to keep it, and the sound quality was unbelievable. Current system is good (think our neighbours at Trax appreciated the Hayseed Dixie blaring from my speakers) but definitely room for improvement
As well as polishing the alloys I would powdercoat the grey shadow parts blue
I would keep the car mystic blue but would like to have ghost graphics on the rear quarter panels and wrapping round to the boot - undecided what those graphics should be
Upgraded brakes - red callipers of course
Maybe stage 2 remap, and the upgrades that entails

I'll post some pics once I have some.

2000 Ford Focus 2.0 Ghia Estate

This car has been well looked after during my period of ownership, its an excellent all around car for many purposes & does it with ease.

Facts of what its had done whilst with me:
Headgasket & Headbolts done – April 2011

Spark Plugs & HT Leads – Jan 2011
Air Filter – Jan 2011
Exhaust Rear box replaced with Stainless Steel item (no rusting) – September 2010
Rear Windows Professionally Tinted for privacy – September 2010
Exhaust front Flexi pipe – May 2010
Battery – April 2010
Rear Brake Discs – September 2010
Coil Pack – January 2010
OSF/NSR/NSF Metal Brake lines replaced – February 2010
Front Wheel Bearings – August 2011 /

The Nitty Gritty Stuff,
Tax – 6 Months
MOT – Feb 2012
98,000 Miles

Other Stuff,
No need for the ugly sun blinds here, the tinted rear windows give excellent privacy in the rear of the car & also provide 98% UV protection from the suns damaging rays while cooling the interior by a further 43% Heat Reduction.

The 16” alloy wheels on the car come from a mk2 mondeo, they are fitted with 205/55/16 tyres which make for a perfect ride. Unlike many sets of these wheels, all the centre caps are here.

Older cars can suffer from dull number plate lighting, not this one however, its been fitted with 2 LED bulbs rather than the standard bulbs which are much bright & illuminate the number plate perfectly.

The car has been fitted with an alarm system which is capable of locking & unlocking the car, aswell as providing peace of mind when your asleep. When it does go off, it is quite loud. The alarm features interior microwave sensor detection, door opening detection & shock sensor.

In addition to these, I have fitted 2 x 7” Screens in the front headrests (keeps the rear seat passengers very happy) DVD Player is behind the rear seats, it has a remote control so you can also play DVD games, aswell as the usual DVD’s.

This car also has the upgraded headlights from the newer model Ford Focus due to the old ones becoming dull. Also, to give the car a little different & newer look, I have changed the front bumper indicators & side repeaters to a black version of the standard amber items. ( I will happily put the amber ones back in place if you wish)

The interior of the car has been kept very tidy, it has tailor made floor mats (suit the shape of the footwells perfectly) rather than universal ones. It has upgraded gear & handbrake gaiters, finished in silver, to match the car.

The bad bits,
To be fair, it’s a car that as I say can be used for many things due to its size & strong engine. It does have some light body damage on the driver’s door but its not something that you really notice everyday (picture included), it has very small bits of rust around but nothing that’s serious or structural or I would have already repaired it. O/S/F Wheel bearing does need replacing, I have got the bearing but haven’t got around to fitting it yet (£30 labour) (Please note, these bad bits are reflected in the price)

To sum up:
Its an honest car, that’s been looked after. Its had the important things done (head gasket & timing belt) and lets be honest the light body damage wont leave you stranded beside the M1. Its good at keeping the kids happy thanks to the DVD system & if you wanted to fit a towbar, it will happily tow large trailers or caravans thanks to its 2.0 engine.

Other things – 4 x Electric Windows, Child locks, Trip Computer, Traction Control, Heated front & rear windscreen, Heated mirrors, Quick-clear windscreen with heated washer jets, Electric Mirrors, Electric drivers seat, 4 airbags, 3 cup holders, black walnut effect interior trim.

This focus can even handle snow rather well in normal tyres thanks to its traction control system, it one of the few cars that made it out during last winter’s snow storm & it did extremely well indeed.

I do indeed love this car & for me it is a shame to be putting her up for sale but unfortunately, my circumstances mean I cannot keep her.

I do have the receipts for all the purchases & work mentioned above, if you do have any more questions, I would be happy to answer them, just ask!

A new venue and circuit for the Modified Live calendar and the entire scene! This circuit is simply amazing, based just outside of the Cheshire borders and in North Wales, Anglesey is a virgin to the world of the car crazy modifying scene.

We're going all out to make this one a great day out as we run to the coast for the Seaside Showdown - the circuit is next to the beach, literally!

There is only one thing to say about Anglesey - ROAD TRIP!!

Cadwell Park? Never heard of it?

We'll you have now and you are in for a great treat if you get yourself along to the Summer In the Park event being held at superb surroundings of Cadwell in Lincolnshire.

The venue is famed for hosting the British Super Bike Championship with its treacherous bends, twists and turns with great facilities and awesome spectator spots around the track, you'll be crazy to miss whats going on at Cadwell.

With all the star cars of the Time Attack Series, man handling 800bhp+ machines around the narrow twisties of Cadwell will be a sight to behold, expect speed, incidents and drama as the boys go at it to set the quickest lap times - for the first time at Cadwell.

If that wasnt enough, the Pirelli European Drift Championship also pays a visit at Modified Live -if you are a Cadwell regular you'll know just how narrow the circuit is - do you think you can drift a car at 100mph around it and make it? The EDC boys are set to tear it up and show you why they are simply the best in the business.

On and off track action is non stop all day with entertainment, traders, vendors and fun and games all day long, and don’t forget if your part of a car club, get your club entered into the Tug Of War Comp!!

And last but not least we will be offering you guys and girl some track time!!
Public Track Time will be 20 minute sessions at £20 - Normal track day rules apply and all drivers need a full valid driving license (both parts) crash helmet if they have one or they can hire one from the circuit at £10.

Well after a break. I thought i should really show my face on here again, as it has been a while now (think nearly a year :lol: )

For those of you who don't know me, my name is richard,i'm 34, from nottingham, i'm currently driving a mk2 1.6 focus zetec with DRLs, I use to have a mk2 mondy in juice green until someone set fire to it for me

I have also started to get into the detailng scene, but not in a big way just enough to try and keep my focus looking in show condition.

how do we all wash are car in a step by step guide

1 blast all the cr*p of the bodywork
2 use 2 buckets with gritt gards one with clean water no shampoo other with shampoo (porboys in my case) and use a handmitt
3 when car in nice a bubbly rince of with pressure washer
4 use a drying cloth and wipe in one direction to dry car
5 apply polish with a applying pad or cloth preff mircofiber and use other cloth/pad to remove
6 use a 1" wheel brush for your wheels

job done i will post pictures up of what the car looks like after i have washed my motor

Just thought id let you know what ive been upto for those of you that dont know

Had a busy week this week due to the Foci, what started as a serious missfire has basically turned into me now having the head off the engine!

Seems that the timing belt tensioner has gotten a little weak which caused problems with the timing belt, and as we know this can cause piston/valve contact!

Good news is that i got the head off yesterday & visually it looks ok other than some very slight contact, ive yet to do double check the valve tightness of gasses.

So as soon as i have a new head gasket, timing belt, head bolts, belt tensioner, serpentine belt & rocker gasket, i will get her rebuilt!

24V Sierra 4X4 For Breaking Or Repairrs

It time for my old girl to go I'm not using her any more, now I have a new toy.

All parts available:

Engine does overheat, but could be because I think the fan switch is faulty, spare heads to go with it, timing chain and tensioner have been done.

MT75 gearbox

Stage 2 (I think) chipped ECU and uprated FPR by Topboss, the car was converted by them

Stainless steel decatted exhaust system

Spax PSX Suspension kit, poly bushed front end, and to do rear end, thicker ARB's too

283mm Cossie 4x4 discs and calipers with new green stuff pads, 4x4 rear vented discs and calipers.

RS bodykit, electric sunroof and recaro interior. nearly new aftermarket 17" alloy wheels multi-drill 4x108/4x100

Plus, lots of 24v go faster bits, including Piper cams, turbo pistons and a brand new, never been fitted crank and bearings.

right as most of you know my car has been modded in almost every aspect and now it has a xr3i 1.6 engine in there with a carb head and xr2 carb

when i renewed i told them about the 1.6 engine said it was a 105spec (to cover my ****) but the car was down as standard other then that so i was paying
£513 a year 2nd year a driving at 22 years old

so declared all the mods i have done, dont think i have missed anything and guess what there charging me £513 a year

as above i need a 1.4 or 1.6 cvh flywheel with the trigger wheel on the back asap my 1.4 ones has worn down badly its past repair, but the 1.4 clutch fit the 1.6 flywheels so im guessing there the same

also need a 190mm or 200mm (200mm preferred) clutch kit if anyone's got one cheeper then £30 new

just got to sort out the passenger lower arm then
cheep as posable please, im unemployed and my ex is wanting money out of me i just havent got

£100 will be up for grabs in a timed competition! at each event we will time you to change a set of 4 spark plugs, quickest time will be confirmed weekly and the winner with the fastest time by our last show night on Dec 29th will receive the £100 cash prize. The cost each time to have a go at this will be £1

Also Halfords vouchers to the value of £100 will be available to win! this will be the fastest time to change a wheel at each event, again to win the fastest time by the 29th Dec, will cost just £1 per go, winning quickest time will win the vouchers.

Both mirrors are in good condition and should work. Bought them with the intention of fitting them but plans changed before could try them

I had been refraining from posting this in the hope that the issue would be resolved but 3wks on it still hasn't so what the hell.

Well my wheels have been away at Demon Tweeks as well as Team Dynamics for over 3wks now. They claim the fact that my wheels have marks on them is down to stonechips and extreme weather conditions and therefore they wont do anything. I am waiting for Demon Tweeks as they had requested a report from Team Dynamics.

It's a good job I have the wheels RS2000 Conversion and Chunkiegg worked so hard on to refurbish as that is what MiNX will be using thanks to Team Dynamics.

One thing I have learnt and want to pass on is don't buy polish faced wheels!!

I'm collecting a set of G-Max suspension on Wedneday night at the local RS Owners Club meet. These ones will fit the MK6 as opposed to the Mk5 Koni's I already have that don't

I'm getting them really cheap and it will be nice to get the car level again (the rear is soooo much higner than the front... Ground to top of wheel arch on the front = 23", the same measurement on the back, well thats 26")

I am hoping someone local can help me out with fitting them otherwise i'll have to attempt them myself.

Scott has already offered (coz he's a top bloke) but as I want to try and get them done on the off chance that I can make it to Ford Fair so its more of a timing issue than anything else.

I'll get photos etc once I've got them etc.

Well some of you may know that I de-badged the car sometime ago..... Lets just say it was a big mistake, or so I thought.

I have been thinking about this for sometime and looking for something to replace the everyday chrome badges that you see on every other RS2000. I'm not that theres a problem with that far from it, but I've now decided on what I'm going to get made up.

I've contacted DMB graphics and they are doing a set of these for me. One like this for the boot and just a separate RS to put on each wing....

There is also a 'little' twist to it that I won't reveal at the moment..... after all the saying goes "All good things come to those who wait"

i fitted spax to my car in jan but never had it only any sort of level surface till now
first off my car handles fine and rides bumps well but its dropped on one corner

this sides fine and i like how its sat

but dont no whats happened here

any ideas whats happened here?

also when we did the tracking we found that one side of the car was 1/2 inch long then the other from hub to hub, how would this happen?

i have decided life sucks ****

right everyones been taking me for a ride,

i got dumped in pet by my so called mates had to be picked up at 1 in the morning by above mate and gave me a place to stay as was so depressed and just wanted it to end that night

when i was in a relationship ever girl i like/liked(as past and now) was single and if i was single i could posable have had a relationship with one of them (not a player alright)

now
im single all the girls are taken and i got no social life so dont even go out so i cant find anyone

was well impressed if any one saw my rebuild i had to adjust the toe angle on my car by eye and a steel rule, as it went **** up when lowering it

well get the mirrors on it and it was towing out by 0.5 deg in the drivers wheel
half a turn out on the driver track rod and she was spot on as set her on 0deg toeing in or out

camber a bit ***** ones afte about -4 and ones about -2

Well I've decided to remove the side mouldings on the car.

One of the decisions for doing this is the fact that the paint has all cracked and started to flake off and there looks cr4p.

It shouldn't take too much effot as they are only stuck on with double sided tape, so a kettle of boiling water and plastic flexible ruler, followed by a good clean and polish and it should be job done.

I'll take some photos throughout the process too.

If you have seen my thread for my car, then here is the 'project' thread to go with it, will update this as i go along.

The Car:
Here are those pics

What it needs:

New Plates & Remounted in Manufacturer's bolt holes (seems like someone just screwed them anywhere)
Straighten the front splitter out with some heat.
Change the brake light bulb
Remove whatever is in the front indicator
Fit the new TDH
Fit the new high tension exhaust bolts & Clamp
Find out why the N/S/R suspension squeaks when bounced
Grease the door mountings
De-assemble the pedal box & re-build properly (i.e. with grease)
Check the rear brakes over
Get the alignment done to stop it pulling left
Check the rear O/S wheel bearing to find the rumbling noise (although as i say above it maybe the discs, or the suspension/bushes for that matter)

It may seem to some like i have my work cut out but it wont take me more than a day. Then of course after that theres the new HU, changer, sub & amp to be fitted!

Then after this i will be tinting all the rear windows, and fitting my fridge for summer, havent planned much further than this though....yet! :P lol

Fancy Dress

A man with a bald head and a wooden leg is invited to a Xmas fancy dress party. He doesn't know what to wear to hide his head and his wooden leg, so he writes to a fancy dress company to explain his problem.

A few days later he receives a parcel with a note:

Dear Sir,
Please find enclosed a Pirate's outfit. The spotted handkerchief will cover your bald head and with your wooden leg you will be just right as a Pirate.

The man is offended that the outfit emphasizes his disability, so he writes a letter of complaint. A week passes and he receives another parcel and note:

The man is really incandescent with rage now, because the company has gone from emphasizing his wooden leg to drawing attention to his bald head. So he writes a really strong letter of complaint. A few days later he gets a very small parcel from the company with the accompanying letter:

Today has been rather a shocking day after MiNX was taken to have her alarm looked at by Highdown Car Audio in Worthing (the fitter of my fantastic I.C.E!). It was then found by Highdown that things weren't right and there was, or had had been for unknown amount of time, the chance of an electrical fire which if it had happened couldve quickly turned into a bigger and dangerous fire.

I cannot thank Highdown, especially Jeremy, enough for all the hard work and hours they put in to make my car safe again. They have saved us and my car.

Car is running REALLY rough

Well the car has started running really rough and some guys on the RS2000 forum reckoned it might be something to do with the coil packs.

Well I had a little look into this and I think it might be the coil pack that is causing the problem.... :eek: as you can see the wires have been stripped slightly.

So looks like I need a new set or to find some way of getting it repaired :(

I brought a set of OZ Super T's recently so I now have this awesome set of 17" rims, with 205/40/17 tyres for sale. :-)

They have a PCD of 4x108 and Offset ET35-42 so will fit most four stud Fords (Escort, Mondeo, Sierra) and probably some other makes too.

Well some of you might know that I got a set of five 16" OZ Super Turismo's for the RS2K and tomorrow I'm going to start refurbing some of them.

Two of them have already been refurbed, but I'm undecided as to whether to keep them silver or paint them charcoal grey so tomorrow I'm going to start working on them and I'll post up the progress here.

Let me know what your opinions are with regards to the colour. Remembering they will be going on Dark Green car. :lol:

Hey guys, i'm looking into getting a different set of alloy wheels so i have my wheels up for sale

they a set of four 17 inch OZ Superleggera alloy wheels professionally refurbed and powercoated jet black they also come with black and chrome Ford logo badges on them!

Recently i have put brand new tyres on them 215/45/17 tyres from Neuton tyres, and they are brilliant same quality as my old dunlop sp sport 9000's! they have rim protection on them all! and have lots of tread on them unsure of how much but they were added on in december and gripped very well in the snow and wet!

All wheels are in perfect condition no kerbing no buckles at all!

ESSEX HURRICANE APPEAL

A major hurricane (Hurricane Shazza) and an earthquake measuring 5.8 on the Richter scale hit Essex in the early hours of Friday with its epicentre in Basildon . Victims were seen wandering around aimlessly, muttering "Faaackinell".

The hurricane decimated the area causing approximately �30 worth of damage. Several priceless collections of mementos from Majorca and the Costa Del Sol were damaged beyond repair.

Three areas of historic burnt out cars were disturbed. Many locals were woken well before their giros arrived. Essex FM reported that hundreds of residents were confused and bewildered and were still trying to come to terms with the fact that something interesting had happened in Basildon .

One resident - Tracy Sharon Smith, a 15-year-old mother of 5 said, "It was such a shock, my little Chardonnay-Mercedes came running into my bedroom crying. My youngest two, Tyler-Morgan and Victoria-Storm slept through it all. I was still shaking when I was skinning up and watching Trisha the next morning."

Apparently looting, muggings and car crime were unaffected and carried on as normal.

The British Red Cross has so far managed to ship 4,000 crates of Sunny Delight to the area to help the stricken locals. Rescue workers are still searching through the rubble and have found large quantities of personal belongings, including benefit books, jewellery from Elizabeth Duke at Argos and Bone China from Poundland.

HOW CAN YOU HELP?

This appeal is to raise money for food and clothing parcels for those unfortunate enough to be caught up in this disaster. Clothing is most sought after - items most needed include:

Fila or Burberry baseball caps

Kappa tracksuit tops (his and hers)

Shell suits (female)

White sport socks

Rockport boots

Any other items usually sold in Primark.

Food parcels may be harder to come by, but are needed all the same. Required foodstuffs include:

Microwave meals, Tins of baked beans, Ice cream, Cans of Colt 45 or Special Brew. 22p buys a biro for filling in the compensation forms.

�2 buys chips, crisps and blue fizzy drinks for a family of 9. �5 buys B&H and a lighter to calm the nerves of those affected.

got a honda crx delsol it dont start

engine was partly seezed so had to free it but sticking it in gear and pushing it with the escort (good old ford)
will not crank even with a good battery
needs 24volts to crank
but wouldnt start even with fuel down the inlet

then found not getting sparks what would cause it as got a elecy dizzy

As some of you know, I had an op in November last year

I had a very large Hiatus Hernia. This means that the stomach had managed to turn it's self inside out and got stuck up through the reflux valve at the top of the stomach, damaging the valve and the tube above it. I had been waiting for over a year to have it sorted and was sent to the Gastric Research Unit run by Kings Collage at St Thomas hospital in Westminster, London. I also had an internal bleed. After an op lasting just over 6 hours, and a few days with very very loveley nurses running round after me :D I was let home. The Op consisted of cutting and reshaping the stomach, removing the old valve, and tube above, and replacing them with plastic ones. They have also narrowed another tube in there and fixed the internal bleed.

I went back to the hospital last Friday to have more testes done. Then I got the news I wanted, the op has been a complete success ! :D

I have to go back in about a years time, just to make sure everything is still ok, but that's it ! :D

There is one down side to having all this done tho, not allowed anything fizzy, and that includes larger and beer :o but I think its a small sacrifice for the pain I was in.

Well I had the koni's fitted today and the front discs were done as well with green stuff pads... :lol:

I couldn't get the rears done because the top mounts are TOO different.. :cry: the Koni's originally came off a Mk5 RS2000.

The one on the left is the Koni, the right side one is the original

So the car now has koni's on the front, but the originals still on the back, so does someone know where I can get some Mk6 rears....???

As some of you may know, just after leaving Scarborough a few days ago we had a little breakdown, as i changed gear i felt a slight clunk, then a loss in power, then noticed some smoke in the mirror, so you can imagine my thoughts by this time, so we pulled over, opened the bonnet, more smoke came out but no the engine wasnt alight lol but it was needing to be recovered to get it home.

The day after i got straight into it to find out what went wrong and discovered that the bearing case in the water pump had given way & caused some of the bearing to jam the pulley. This also made a nice mess of the serpentine(aux) belt which was mainly dust at this point. So i ordered some parts & got them changed, then a couple hours later she was running again :D

All sorted!

Hi, thought I�d sign up, introduce myself & say hello.

Some of you may know me (or my car), I�ve been about for a few years now in this scene lol I�ve got a wide-arched candy blue Pulsar GTiR & an S13 200sx I like to try driftin with! I used to co-own Borocruisers for many years. Also I�ve worked organising various shows such as ists & jts.

I try and always use a lint free cloth with any polish and I also wipe the car down after cleaning with synthetic chamois leather to avoid streaking....

Now I am confused.....

I went into the garage only to notice that my daughters bike was missing. Nothing else was missing, the golf clubs, my sons bike, garden furniture and basically everything else is exactly where I left it.

I know once or twice I have left the garage door open during the night (Stupid I know) but nothing has ever gone missing.

She never rides on it without me or her brother so she must have taken it out and left it somewhere....

Hi all

I've been asked on a couple of forums, what the new cameras are on the Motorways.

Unless this sign is displayed, near by or at the camera location, then they are NOT SPEED CAMERAS

These cameras have been installed by the Highways Agency to monitor the speed of traffic and used to give you a rough idea of how long it will take to get to a main junction on the Motorway.

The cameras work on the same bases as the average speed cameras. They read the registration numbers of passing vehicles at one point, read the registration numbers at the next point. The system works out how long it took that vehicle and then displays the information on the Electronic Signs. No information is stored on the system at all.

shortened version of guide but will reply to questions

im sure you all know the legal ball about im not liable if you cock it up. (just fort id add it)

prep you calipers and struts

check you have copper washers

new bigger disks

jack and stand vehicle as said in manuals
and remove wheels

undo caliper retaining nuts

it is best to clamp the flex hose so to reduce spillage (also use a plastic bag and take the
fluid pot lid off and cover pot with bag and refit lid as it seals the pot and the fluid is less
likely to drain out

caliper removed

remove old disk & fit new disc

reconnect flex hose

fit caliper and do up the 2 bolts

struts

undo lower strut retaining bolt

now to remove the strut from the hub carrier u need to be savage and beat it with a hammer
its the easyist way

now the hub carrier should be free

Phone still works perfectly just under battery cover is still a bit sticky, very difficult to slide camera open and the keypad is hanging off. Hi all, not sure if anyone can help, but I'm pulling what tiny bit of hair I have left out

I've finaly got back on the net, and signed up with Three mobile

I can access the net with no problem, but for some reason, the laptop will not conect to Microsofts own website, it just keeps saying that the page can not be found. It does the same through Internet Explorer, Firefox and Google Chrome.

In desperaton, I formated the laptop and reinstalled Windows XP, downloading SP2 & SP3 on the other PC. I have shut down the firewall and antiviris, but it still wont let me accesss Microsoft. I just want to download Windows Live Messenger, but it wont let me.

Any idea would be appriciated before this poxy thing ends up under the wheels of the 1st truck on the M25 I come across when I'm back at work

Sorry not been on line much this week, but still recovering from my 9 1/2 hour drive home on Monday.

I left Cambridge after visiting my Nan at 14:30..... drove for 125 miles and arrived home at 23:55.

Basically the snow on Monday turned north Hampshire and Berkshire into a huge car park... :cry:

It took me 6 hours to cover 30 miles, with me the wife and two kids aged 10 and 7, I will say that they were so well behaved and I think they realised that there was no point in moaning as there was nothing we could do about it......

Well I went on a one day course today, driving home I stopped in a layby to make a phone call, switched the engine off for 2 minutes and the damn car wouldn't re-start. It was freezing cold and pitch black and I was quite scared being on my own.... :oops:

Maybe it had something to do with running the heater, heated front and rear screens the stereo being on, SatNav and the headlights and windscreen wipers going.... :lol: all at the same time... :lol:

The nice man from the RAC came and gave the battery a boost to get the car started so I could get home, so the next job is to buy a new one.... :cry:

Well, fingers crossed I'll be getting a new job soon, which means that the RS2000 will be heading back to the road after being SORN'd since end of Feb this year.

I was wondering what things I need to be doing to make sure she's tip top in order to get her back on road?

Anything I've missed out please feel free to add :)

Replace:

Oil- flush through once or more?
Air Filter
Oil Filter
Fuel Filter
Dunno if Power Steering fluid needs replacing?
poss new battery as it's been flat most of this year
Tyres might just scrape through MOT
Bottom arms are being replaced along with the driver's side subframe lower arm mounting point.

Get some Power boost and clear the engine of carbon build up

Front brake discs and pads were new when the car was sorn'd, so rear brakes might need sorting?

Can anyone think of anything else?

There are basically a black background (as opposed to Blue) and the writing is in a BRIGHT GREEN. (the photos don't quite show off how bright is is. :lol:

My fleet includes a 24v XR4x4 and a BTCC replica Volvo 850 T5, both run on LPG, so are cheap to fuel. The Sierra hasn't been on the road since 2005, guess I should do something about that :P

Ok so i aint posted for a bit so thought i would by saying how the last few days have been amazing ... All thanks to mike for making them amazing !

Sunday was our second wedding anniversary and he took me for a fantastic meal and got me roses and made the day perfect !

yesterday i got shouted from down stairs and he had run me a bath with candles and calming music which was very very nice :P

My First GT Project !

Well, made the first little steps on the Sierra this morning, just a 15 minute strip down of the damaged front end, and the last run of the 2.0DOHC engine, little video clip included!

This is planned to be approx 14 months project, il post up later what planned in detail & what ive already got etc etc, anyway, just a couple of pics or so and that video clip i mentioned :D

As the manager of an U10's football team, I thought I'd start this thread a somewhere to praise my boys and keep those who are interested up to date on how they are doing.

Well the first game of the season they won..... 8 - 1
The second game they won..... 12 - 0

Well just to update you on todays game. They played really well but unfortunately they lost 3 - 2. The thing is they didnt deserve to loose, but tey let in two simple goals because they simply 'switched off' of a split second and its all the opposition needed.

Just thought I'd have a moan about hotels..... Well some of them anyway.

As most of you know I work away from home during the week and the hotel I am staying in is really nice and homely with a great restaurant and bar, and the cost per night is only �35 and that includes FREE.... Yep FREE wireless internet.

Now this is where my rant will start.
I have had to go and work up up Preston and although the cost of the hotel and food is covered by the company...... nothing else is.

First hotel was a Premier Inn.... �105 per night for a double room including breakfast, but guess what..?? I have to pay for the use of the internet. �5 for one hour or �9 for twenty four (but thats 24 hours from the time you first log on, not 24 hours usage).

The next stay was at a 4* Marriott hotel.... �98 per night for a double room, �15 for breakfast and you guessed it, NO free internet. Only this hotel charges �15 for 24 hours usage.

I have internet access at home and I pay less than �15 for a whole month.....

I just don't understand why they have to charge you, I don't think anyone would have a problem being limited to the total amount you could download, but come on �9 or �15 is a bit excessive.

Aaaahhhh thats better, I feel cleansed and so much better for getting that off my chest. :lol:

i've got 2 mini's one a 1984 mini mayfair that i've had for 10 years in varing states of tune and the other one a 1990 mini city e.
The first one has been modified into a speedster but i'm now selling the shell.

Not sure if im posting this in the right place but it is " random " so im guessing so ... ok so ive had two gorgeous chinchillas one of them for 3 year and the over 2 year i think hehe .. anyways upto now they havn't been able to go in the same cage etc as not had time really to get them to go together BUT today we emptied our bathroom which is the safest place to get chinchillas to meet and popped them in there and everything went well :D another couple of weeks of bathroom meets and i think its time to go in same cage ... well anyways heres a pici of them both ! couldnt resist posting one !

Now for a major moan about my job

I got feckin stuck at work till 5:45 tonight and was in the ofc at 7:30 this morning so didn't get a chance to stuff on my car, so well pee'd off.

My job is turning into a huge bag a s&%t at the moment as I am being expected to do loads of work on a system I do not know, and they played a feckin guilt card by saying if the work doesn't go in on time it will cost the company �250K....

Well feckin get someone who knows the systems inside out to do it, don't give it to someone who has only been there three weeks as still hasn't had any training........

BUT, today, I recieved a letter from Edge Hill.

After a stint of no laptop, I had restricted access but im back.

Now as some of you may know I have had some trouble with the Fiat. The head gasket decided to go between cylinders 2 & 3.

Thankfully i stopped before it went completely, so we are able to replace it with no damage :)

I have a runaround at the moment, a peugeot 205 1.4

Its like being in a go-kart :lol:

Plumbing in an AVCR boost controller

Although this is for a Skyline R33 GTS-T i would have thouhgt the fundamentals would be the same for differant cars

Please note i take no responsability for any damaged coursed to you or your car due to you following this advise. It is only a guide and should be treated as such. Every cars set up is differant and im working on a spec 2 engine it could be the same for a spec 1 but i wouldnt no that.

Number one find a nice place to mount your avcr so that you have enough wire to play with and its easy to work on i found mine best suited here the mounting bracket fits nice inside and no need for any drilling or screwing just stuck mine down with the sticky bits supplied

Ok to start with the Apexi avcr is wired in to the ecu (found in the passanger footwell wall left hand side low level well mine was. Now you should get a vehicle specific wiring digram booklet with this avcr this will help wire in the avcr to the ecu harness.

To help you out go to the vechicle application table for Nissan, go down untill you find the skyline then rb25det then year 93.8 to 95.12 then across it will give you a wiring diagram number N4 a. flick the page over and there you have it

For those that dont see below

I carnt remember the colours on the ecu, but be careful, If your luck is like mine, non exsistant then your find that your be almost working upside down so be sure you have the right wire before you cut or splice anything.

Right the Avcr colours are as follows

Red wire Ig power
Purple wire rpm signal injector signal
Green and black both ground and these must be connected a 2 points on the same wire
Gray wire throttle signal
White wire speed signal

This is what mine looked like, a complete mess.

Ok now we take a look at the mounting location for the solenoid valve. best to find a place where the hose length would be shortest and away from heat make sure u use the rubber mount and screws. I mounted mine here. Just infront of the passanger side strut on top of the wheel arch

Next we need to look at the mounting of the pressure sensor again follow the instructions above short hose away from heat and make sure you mount it up the right way (hose connection nipple facing down) I mounted mine here. back of the engine bay center of bulk head????

The position of the solenoid and pressure sensor if done this way should leave you with more then enough wire when you bring all the cuplings through the bulk head from the ecu (its best to come through the passanger side gromet when you pass through the bulk head)

So it should look something like this after mounting

Right now to plumb in

Ill start with the pressure sensor first ok really easy just follow the picture and "T" into the hose thats already there and connect to the nipple of the pressure sensor like so

Now for the the solenoid valve

This valve has 2 connections on it 1 "no" 2 "com". The "no" hose should be connected to the intercooler pipe disconnect the hose thats on there as standard and fit this in its place like so. note the shortest wire coming from the side of the solenoid valve is the "no" connection.

Again using the same photo note the hose coming out the top of the solenoid this is the "com" this should be conected to the wastegate actuator its the gold thing you can just make out in this photo here

Right now hook up all the avcr couplers.

Now dissconnect the stock coupler thats this bit here next to the stock solenoid (the thing with 2 nipples sticking out of it one above the other) you also have to disconect both these 2 see picture below BEFORE dissconection

This should leave you with one hose left. With this you just pug it with a screw fold it over and zip tie it like so.

That should be it apart from setting it up to run boost

what i have done is set the target boost at .80 bar the ne levels starting at 2000rpm going up in 500rpm segments and chucked it in learn mode this im told will/should sort out the desired duty for each gear without to much trubble or over boosting. I may do another thread if you think this is any good about setting it up when i now how and had a little play.

Anyway hope this helps

I thought I'd take up the challange of the neo afc and started to re map it. Had it ages but no one really wanted to touch it or were going to charge a fortune just look at it.............. Bloody Skyline tax!!!

Anyway the car had a few flat spots and a miss fire, as well as running a little too rich. So I thought if I lean it out abit (not too much) lets see what happens.

Fuck me some of its well hard, like working out the best percentage rate of high and low throttle then changing the afs 1% at a time at each 500 rpm interval on just a 8 point graph (thats beginers mode) advance is 16.

So the outcome

At first the car felt like it was bogged down, so changed a few settings around. I had a few base maps I'd worked from and went for the savest one first. After an hour or so I ended up with a custom af map that appears to have made the power delivery a lot smother more responsive and overall more enjoyable car to drive, also the mpg has increased slightly. I can average 35 on the mway and 26 round town thats up a few miles, well according too Nissan consult anway.

Its cheaper then a ecu remap as the neo only cost me �200. Although i've heard that rsp do a exchange ecu stage one map for the R33 for �300 now, but im not at stage one yet, but something to concider later. Also the neo only alters the air flow pulse so its only fooling the ECU in to thinking that theres more or less air then there acutually is so not quite the same as a complete custom ECU remap
witch i would have thought would cost something like �600 too �800 quid and you could also remap it to run on 95.

Anyway all this sounds like I no what im doing lol I wish!!! just hours and hours of reseach and some very crude jap translation.

The colour of the dash really is nice in the right light its deffo grown on me but the crappy old camara phone dont really pick it up all that good.

So it was a nice day, thought i'd make the most of it, First off a mate a few months back noticed that the front tyres were getting a bit on the low side, so gave me his two old alloys off his R32 GTR. They were a bit fcuked up but had bridgestones, with about 5/6 mm of tread on them and they were free. So today I went about referbing them. I think they come out ok, seeing as i've never done anything like this before and it was my first attempt.

I also thought the dash needed a make over and although the pictures dont show it very well, the paint is lambo pearlesent purple (the only purple pearlesent lambo do) changes colour from a nice purple to a nice bluey colour in the right light. Bastard too spray though.

Thought i would be the first to post in here!

What air filter do you have? aftermarket? And does it make any performance gains as it says on the box??

I fitted a powertec SL1 filter on my bmw shortly after getting the car, i had it on the rolling road with standard airbox, then 15mins later with the powertec. the figures speak for themselves. My 323ci should pump out 170hp on a good day..

A 17.2 hp gain, shows how restrictive the standard ones are. And i had it RR again a couple months ago and was running 185 after i had a scorpian exhaust fitted. PIMP!

OMG what am I letting myself in for..???? :lol:

I currently manage an U10's football team and thought what the h3ll, why not train to become a coach as well.

It only involves 3.5 hours of teaching (6 - 9:30pm) four nights this week, and then Saturday and Sunday, both from 9am - 5pm.... :shock:

Gonna be properly assessed to FA standards on Sunday, then offically get my FA level 1 coaching badge...

CAT Replacement and exhaust fitting

I am trying to get someone to cut out the CAT replacement pipe as it is welding in, so I can refit the proper CAT.

This is what the exhaust looks like from the rear..... its so wrong.

This is what I think it should look like (without my hand being there of course)

And this is probably one of the reasons why..... I do have new mounting rubbers but just not gotten round to fitting them.

I'm going to Top Gear.....

I'm off to Dunsfold on Wedneday where they record Top Gear. Got a friend who works for the MSA and while Jezza was getting his motor sport licence renewed he gave him two tickets to be there while they record the show.

Normally up to a 2 year waiting list..... :pp

I'll try and get some photos but probably wont be allowed a camera in there.

Anyone got any decent tips on how to use Photoshop 7? I have a link to the photoshop bible http://www.digimods.co.uk/tutorials/tutorials.htm but I need more help than that.... :lol:

I have been playing around with it and all I want is to lower the car and try different wheels on it and trying to draw round the wheels etc is a nightmare.... :(

Also I need tips.... lots of tips on how to do my own sig's.

Gem did a great one for me, but I've got more pictures I want to use.

Someone please help.....
or tell me to get off my lazy ar5e and read the 'instructions' :lol: but being a man, I don't do that kind of thing... :lol:

Well, my sister is going to have the Mondeo off me, as it is too much for all the small journeys I do.

Plans have changed, so i'm not getting the FTO, I was looking for something smaller along the lines of a 1.4 or 1.6.

Anybody have any ideas, baring in mind I have a budget of around �750 at the moment :cry:
